A young man has shared the horrifying moment his nose began leaking fluid after a popular ‘liquid nose job’ procedure.
Oliver Davis, 19, spent £160 on the injectable treatment, which typically lasts between a year and 18 months, and involves placing filler in the nose to manipulate the shape.
Oliver had sought the treatment in order to make the tip of his nose more defined.
But one week after undergoing the procedure, his face began to ooze liquid. Despite expecting a bit of pain and swelling, he knew something was horribly wrong.
‘I was left so baffled and confused when I felt this wet drip on my hand,’ Oliver, from Northamptonshire, said.
A 19 year-old from Northamptonshire has described how a ‘pink jelly-like’ substance erupted from his nose after having a liquid nose job
Liquid nose jobs have become exceedingly popular in recent years, with clinics across the country offering a ‘walk in walk out’ nose job that’s complete in an hour.
Oliver showed his TikTok followers the revolting substance that leaked from his nose
‘It was a pinkish, red, jelly-like substance, and I looked around out of confusion before opening my front camera and seeing filler pouring down to my lip.
‘My injector initially said that the cause was probably superficial filler which had started to rise.’
Oliver said that he had already consulted his injector for advice when he realised the soreness wasn’t subsiding as fast as he’d hoped.
She advised him to apply a warm compress every night for seven days.
But the following night, what Oliver suspected to be filler began leaking out of his face.
Eventually, his injector suggested that he may have an infection.
Oliver said: ‘If it didn’t go so drastically wrong I wouldn’t have known I had a bacterial infection, plus necrosis [the death of body tissue] has started to set in.’
After learning that the fluid was pus leaking from the treated area, he contacted his doctor, but the infection eventually resolved on its own.
Oliver also visited an aesthetician who dissolved the filler, which helped to relieve the infection.
He has shared videos documenting his experience online, with one clip gaining over three million views.
One woman commented: ‘This happened to me !!! I just squeezed it all ok and hoped for the best.
Another person wrote: ‘The way I’m never gonna get filler. I hope you’re alright!’ While a woman named Pamela added: ‘This happened with my lip.’
