Sunrise star Sam Mac has announced a shock new career change.
The breakfast TV weatherman, 42, has revealed he has become a published author.
On Tuesday’s edition of Channel Seven’s The Morning Show, Sam chatted to Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies about his foray into writing children’s books.
The television presenter wrote a heartwarming picture book called ‘Suddenly One’ -a dedication to his first daughter Margot, two.
‘When Margot turned one, you want to celebrate that and all those little moments that happen in that first year so, I just jotted down some thoughts,’ Sam told the hosts.
‘(I was on a) long flight to Perth…(and) I thought, “Oh, maybe this could be a poem.” So, a few days later I refined it and posted it with some video to match the words.’
At the time, the video of Sam’s heartfelt poem had received over a million views in one night.
‘It really took me by surprise, and (publishing house) Penguin got in touch and said, “We think that this is a universal experience. Everyone gets excited about their little ones and those first milestones. Let’s turn it into a picture book,”‘ the Sunrise star explained.
