Jordan Chiles could see her Olympic bronze medal reinstated thanks to footage captured by Netflix for a documentary on her teammate Simone Biles.
Chiles, 23, has filed an appeal in a Swiss court as she attempts to get back the bronze she won in Paris, which was later stripped from her due to a Romanian query.
And according to Front Office Sports, a Netflix doc on USA gymnastics legend Biles could be the reason the medal is returned to her.
Chiles’ appeal is said to reveal that footage for ‘Simone Biles Rising’ – which had two episodes released before the Olympics with two more to come later this year – shows that Team USA figures did not miss the deadline to challenge her floor routine score on the day as claimed.
In Paris, the American was originally given fifth place on floor and a United States appeal, launched by coach Cecile Landi, raised her marks by one-tenth to third place behind Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade and Biles.

Days after the Olympics, the Romanian athletic commission filed an appeal of the scores that dropped their athlete, Ana Barbosu, from the medal stand.
The appeal found the United States’ original challenge of the scores was filed four seconds too late and was invalid.
However, it is believed that USA gymnastics are convinced they have the video to their challenge was actually before the one-minute deadline – which comes from footage captured for Biles’ doc.
Landi, who was mic’d up for the doc, can be heard saying at the 49-second mark: ‘Inquiry for Jordan!’
‘One of the two technical assistants, dressed in white, made eye contact with her and nodded to indicate the receipt of the Verbal Inquiry,’ adds the appeal.
Landi repeated ‘Inquiry for Jordan’ and ‘For Jordan’ all before the deadline passed, according to the appeal.

But footage from Biles’ documentary is reportedly being used by Team USA in their appeal
The Court of Arbitration for Sport made the decision to revoke Chiles’ bronze and their rulings can be appealed based on a few factors. including a ‘lack of jurisdiction’ or a ‘violation of elementary procedural rules,’ per the CAS Website.
As the appeal continues, Chiles and her fellow Olympic stars have officially kickstarted their national tour across the United States.
Along with Team USA heroes Jade Carey, Hezly Rivera and Biles, she has flocked to Oceanside to kick off their whistle-stop tour on Monday night.
Biles and other gymnastic stars will perform across the country on the 30-city arena tour, aptly named the ‘Gold Over America Tour’ (GOAT) beginning with back-to-back shows at Frontwave Arena.
