Two major airlines unveil new flight routes to stunning capital city four years after UK ceased air travel

Airlines EasyJet and British Airways have announced the launch of all new flight routes to a ‘beautiful’ capital city.

Both carriers will be adding flights to the Georgian capital of Tbilisi to their schedules – a city described by EasyJet as being ‘known for its history, culture and natural beauty’.

They will be the first direct routes from the UK to Georgia since Wizz Air cancelled its flights to Kutaisi at the beginning of the Covid pandemic four years ago, reports the Independent.

In a statement, easyJet lauded the city’s ‘picturesque Old Town’ as well as its ‘lively arts scene’ and ‘historic sulphur baths’.

The airline says Tbilisi is tipped to be an ‘untapped, affordable city break’.
