A British Army Major has been charged with attempted murder after his ex-wife was found fighting for life on a country lane following a frenzied knife attack.
Jonathan Creak was arrested in Cambridgeshire hours after Rhiannon Creak was repeatedly stabbed with a carpet knife in Hadwick, Norfolk.
Rhiannon, 43, a keen equestrian who split with Jonathan after moving into his barracks at Suffolk’s Wattisham Airfield, was rushed to Norwich University Hospital by air ambulance with ‘serious injuries’.
Afghanistan veteran Jonathan, 50, of Woodstock, Oxfordshire, has been remanded into custody after appearing at Norfolk Crown Court.

He is understood to have left the Ministry of Defence three years ago after transitioning to a desk role.
An East of England Ambulance spokesman said: ‘We were called at 8.07am on 6 July 2024 with reports of a person with knife wounds in Mill Lane, Hardwick.
‘We sent East Anglian Air Ambulance, two ambulances and an ambulance officer vehicle.
‘A woman was taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for further care.’
Norfolk Constabulary added: ‘Police were called to reports of an incident in Hardwick on Saturday 6 July 2024.

‘Ambulance called police at 8.11am where a woman in her 40s was found with knife wounds on Mill Lane.
‘She was taken by ambulance to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with serious injuries where she remains in a stable condition.
‘Officers believe those involved were known to each other.
‘Police arrested a man in Cambridgeshire and he was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
‘Jonathan Creak, 50, of Woodstock, Oxfordshire, has been charged on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a knife.’
