A cop praised for her brutal response to an argumentative man under arrest has been suspended with pay for an unrelated matter.
The officer shut down the criminal as they refused to go down quietly after he was bundled into a police vehicle in Cessnock, in NSW’s Hunter Valley, in February 2022.
Footage showed the officer telling the man to ‘stop being a f***wit’ with her brutal response gaining the praise of Aussies around the country.
The video has since resurfaced and went viral with more than 253,000 views and nearly 500 comments made on one Instagram account in the last two days.
A NSW Police spokesman told Daily Mail Australia on Sunday the officer had been reminded of her ‘professional responsibilities’ at the time.
It has since emerged that she has been suspended with pay for a matter unrelated to the foul-mouthed encounter.
The 31-year-old man had been arrested for an outstanding warrant for property offences.
Footage showed the man shouting in the back of the paddy wagon.
The no-nonsense officer stood beside a police wagon and hushed the troublesome detainee
‘You do what you have to do,’ he said, apparently inviting the officer to Taser him.
‘I’m not going to Taser you. (But) You’re the one that stole s***. You’re the one with a warrant. You’re the one in the dog box,’ she retorted.
‘Yeah? Whoop-de-f***ing-do,’ the man shouted.
The officer quickly cut him off, visibly fed-up.
‘Whoop-de-do? Stop being a f***wit,’ she snapped.
The man appeared to make a comment about the officer’s ability to do her job.
‘At least I’ve got a job,’ she said.
The arrested man mumbled something back to her prompting her to continue with her savage put down.
‘What stealing s**t? Is that your job?’ she said.
The footage was captured by a local.
Social media users were quick to praise the duty officer for her ‘quality banter’.
‘She’s just telling some raw truth, he needs it,’ one wrote.
‘Maybe if more people were told the realities of life, they wouldn’t need to be arrested,’ another said.

One viewer empathised with the officer’s demanding day-to-day job.
‘I can’t stand it when professionals are expected to tip-toe around the truth with people that refuse to help themselves. She told it to him straight,’ he wrote.
‘Most Aussie cops are pretty laid back and cool… in my experience anyway,’ another said.
A number of commenters simply said ‘good on her’.
A NSW Police spokesman said the arrested man fronted Cessnock Local Court on March 23, 2022.
‘The matter has since been finalised in the courts.’
