- Cameron Munster has opened up on his newborn daughter
- Blake was born seven weeks premature and is still in hospital
- The Storm gun is looking after his two boys with the help of his mum
Cameron Munster has shared a personal family situation that has followed him into the NRL finals.
Melbourne Storm gun Munster is hoping to help book his side’s place in the grand final when they take on Cronulla Sharks this weekend, having led the team to the minor premiership this year.
But away from the footy field, the five-eighth has played the role of supportive husband and father after his wife, Bianca, gave birth to their third child seven weeks early.
‘My wife had a bit of a complication so baby had to come a little bit earlier but that’s unfortunately life,’ he said of his daughter’s birth. ‘They’re both good, so no problems there.’
Munster is looking after the couple’s two children while their daughter remains in hospital, and he revealed he is receiving help from his mother.
‘My mum’s here, she’s here for a month. I’m a mummy’s boy and she’s helping me around the house which is ideal.’
When asked whether the ordeal away from the field is having an impact on his game, Munster quipped: ‘A lot of people know me, there’s not a lot going on upstairs so it’s not a big problem for myself.’

Munster and his wife Bianca announced the birth of their daughter Blake with a gushing social media post last month.
‘In absolute awe of the new addition to our family, making a grand entrance 7 weeks early, our baby girl Blake Maria Munster,’ Munster posted on social media.
The couple became parents in 2021 when son Jaxon was born, and welcomed second son Jagger last year.
The happy announcement prompted a flood of messages from footy players and friends, including Latrell Mitchell and Ryan Papenhuyzen.
A lost opportunity to win the 2021 premiership still burns Munster and is driving his quest to make amends in this year’s NRL finals series.
