Andy Lee reveals shocking incident between his fiancée Rebecca Harding and a Sydney Swans star

Andy Lee has detailed a surprising incident that occurred between his fiancée Rebecca Harding and a Sydney Swans player.

The comedian, 43, shared details of what happened while explaining why he won’t be rooting for the Swans in the AFL Grand Final after his club Carlton were knocked out.

Speaking on B105 Breakfast with Stav, Abby and Matt, Andy said Bec ‘hooked up’ with Sydney Swans player Dane Rampe 15 years ago during Schoolies week.

He quipped that he has a ‘vendetta’ against the Swans because of the unlikely connection and said he will be instead rooting for the Brisbane Lions on Saturday.

‘I am going for the Lions because I like it when the team that knocks my team out goes on to win it, it makes it feel like you came second,’ he said.

‘The other reason is that Bec hooked up with Dane Rampe – who plays for the Sydney Swans – at Schoolies. It was like 15 years ago but there’s got to be a natural vendetta.’

Andy recently got engaged to his longtime partner Rebecca but revealed they are in no rush to walk down the aisle.

Speaking on the Kyle and Jackie O show, he said they haven’t started wedding planning because they are renovating their $8.5million historic Melbourne mansion.

Andy Lee has revealed the shock reason why he won’t be lending his support to the Sydney Swans during the AFL Grand Final – and it is linked to his fiancée Rebecca Harding

‘[The wedding] is something we have not discussed at all,’ Andy said.

‘We tried to start it, but I think it bounces between, let’s have everyone there and have a massive party.

‘Then we look at the cost of that and the fact that we’re trying to finish the house. And we’re like, “oh, maybe we’ll just sneak away by ourselves”. But it won’t be any time soon, though.’

Andy also revealed he waited so long to propose to Rebecca because he wasn’t ‘keen on getting married’.

‘I didn’t really think that it was something I needed to do. It represented a waste of money and to be honest, I’m a bit of a wedding Grinch,’ he admitted.

He shared: ‘I used to sit there and go, “Why do we have to go and sit and watch people for four hours tell us how much in love they are?”‘

‘And then as people change, I just thought, “No, actually, I do want a bit of this”. And I was surprised with what it does to a relationship.

‘Even just getting engaged. I think you feel a bit more like a team. So, it’s been a lovely surprise.’

Andy and Rebecca announced their engagement on May 1 after ten years together.

Andy got down on one knee at the couples decrepit Melbourne mansion and proposed with a napkin, which symbolised how they met in 2014.

‘When I first met Bec, in a café, she was a waitress, and she was busy and I wrote on a napkin,’ Andy recalled at the time.

‘I left my email address (on the napkin), which she didn’t like, but I just said, ‘If you have a boyfriend, just tell him that I’m using you to get to him. I bet he’s handsome’.’

Andy returned to the same café the next morning and wrote another message on the napkin.

The couple went public with their relationship at the 2015 Australian Open but briefly split for six months in 2016 before rekindling their romance.
