Kevin Davy White is voted off The X Factor final

Kevin Davy White has been voted off The X Factor 2017.

Failing to win enough of the public votes to continue through to Sunday’s grande finale, the French musician sang his last song on Saturday night’s show.

Stood on stage with Nicole Scherzinger, his mentor declared that she ‘couldn’t wait for his album’ – predicting a bright future for the aspiring pop star.

Kevin, 29, had continually impressed throughout the competition, and went on to make the final three, kicking off the show with a performance of Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin.

He performed the first of the famous X Factor final duets, teaming up with Tokio Myers, the winner of this year’s Britain’s Got Talent.

He rehashed his version of George Michael’s Fast Love, with Tokio accompanying him on the drums.

The Parisian singer – who has now made the UK his home – took the defeat gracefully, insisting that he was happy to get that far and thanking the UK for their support.

Speaking to host Dermot O’Leary after it was revealed Rak-Su and Grace Davies would be going into Sunday night’s final, Kevin said: ‘ It’s [three] my new lucky number! Thank you to the UK for believing in me and putting me on that stage.

‘Thank you to all of you. I love you so much. I can’t wait to show you what I can do.’

Whilst Nicole added: ‘For me, Dermot he has already won. He has already won the hearts of so many people out there. What a beautiful beautiful platform this is for him.’

Both Rak-Su and Grace, as well as their mentors Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne, were thrilled to have made it to the final two.

Asked how they felt about making it this far, Rak-Su’s Mustafa said: ‘I’m speechless. I’m so emotional. Thank you so much to everyone that’s voted for us. We never thought we’d make it here, from our first audition up until now.’

Whilst Grace added: ‘It’s been the most amazing experience. Thank you to the judges, thank you to the contestants for making it so fun.’

It was also revealed that the contestant who wins the show will release their celebrity duet as this year’s winner single, with part of the proceeds being donated to children’s charities, Together for Short Lives and Shooting Star Chase.

One Direction star Louis Tomlinson returned the perform his new single Miss You whilst Simon’s new boy band PrettyMuch also took to the stage.

Grace sang Live And Let Die by Gins N Roses.

‘I think you’ve made a difference this year, along with Rak-Su, coming on with your own material. People will come on in years to come and say “if they can do it, I can do it”,’ Simon Cowell told her, referring to her songwriting skills.

Grace was joined by Paloma Faith who sang Grace’s own song, Roots, with her.

This ended with Grace bursting into floods of tears, unable to speak through her sobs, thanking Paloma for her support.

Paloma told of how Grace had been a ‘micro-manager’ in rehearsals, telling her where to stand. ‘I would have been the same though!’ Paloma quickly added.

Rak-Su performed another original track, and teamed up with two special guests – Wyclef Jean and Naughty Boy.

The final takes place on Sunday, where Rak-Su and Grace will battle it out to be crowned champion. There will be performances from Little Mix, Pink and Sam Smith.
