Katie Holmes was spotted enjoying a casual solo outing in New York City on Saturday.
The Dawson’s Creek star, 45 — who recently received positive reviews for her Broadway play, Our Town — took a casual stroll on her day off as her daughter as Suri Cruise, 18, enjoys her first semester of college at Carnegie Mellon University.
The ex-wife of Tom Cruise looked comfortable in a colorful sweater and baggy sweatpants while chatting on the phone.
She wore her brunette locks in a ponytail and carried a Tribeca Festival tote bag.
Holmes accessorized with a pair of sunglasses and threw a white designer purse over her shoulder.

The Dark Knight actress appeared to be in good spirits as she enjoyed her Big Apple outing all by herself.
It seems as though the brunette beauty is holding up well with an empty nest after dropping off her only child, who she shares with the Mission Impossible star, at college in Pennsylvania back in August.
Tom and Katie were married from November of 2006 until calling it quits in August of 2012, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’.
Cruise was absent for his daughter’s move in day but his ex-wife was there to support their daughter — and Suri’s classes began on August 26, according to the school’s website.
And the child of Hollywood movie stars will have accommodations that are very different than what she is used to in New York City, as Suri is sharing a dorm room with another female student.
‘Suri wants the full college experience so she is giving the dorm rooms a try and she will have a roommate,’ an insider told DailyMail.com at the time.
‘She is excited for a new chapter in her life.’
Instead of mom Katie’s three-bedroom high-rise luxury apartment, the teenager is living in a bare-bones dorm room.
It has been previously hinted by Katie that Suri may be studying acting and dance at Carnegie Mellon.
Holmes told Town & Country magazine that after college, her only child wants to enter showbiz.

The outing comes just weeks after the actress moved her daughter Suri into her dorm at the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University; Suri seen in 2024

The magazine claimed that Suri ‘is said to be interested in pursuing a career in fashion or acting.’
It does not sound off base as Suri starred in a high school production of The Addams Family.
Katie has already put Suri to work on some of her own projects.
Suri contributed vocals to songs in two of Holmes’ films — the 2023 drama Rare Objects and 2022 romantic drama Alone Together.
‘I’m proud of my daughter,’ Holmes told Town & Country of her daughter.
