Rumours is a black comedy film directed by Guy Maddin, Evan Johnson, and Galen Johnson and it stars Cate Blanchett and Alicia Vikander.
The film had its premiere in May at the 77th Cannes Film Festival.
Rumours follows world leaders at a G7 summit who get lost in the woods while trying to compose a joint statement on a global crisis. They are menaced by undead bog bodies and a giant brain while caught in thick fog.
Oscar-winner Cate plays Hilda Ortmann, the Chancellor of Germany, while Alicia portrays Celestine Sproul, the Secretary-General of the European Commission.
The film also features Charles Dance as Edison Wolcott, the President of the United States; Roy Dupuis as Maxime Laplace, the Prime Minister of Canada; Denis Ménochet as Sylvain Broulez, the President of France; Nikki Amuka-Bird as Cardosa Dewindt, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom; Rolando Ravello as Antonio Lamorte, the Prime Minister of Italy and Takehiro Hira as Tatsuro Iwasaki, the Prime Minister of Japan.
Mischa last year had an extended guest role portraying Reece Sinclair on the Australian soap opera Neighbours.
She had a starring role in the 2023 murder mystery film Invitation To A Murder that also starred Chris Browning, Bianca A. Santos and Giles Matthey.
