No beginnings: The incoming Fenwick boss, Nigel Blow claims he was ‘fired’ before he even started because he worked at Harrods under disgraced Mohamed Al Fayed
The incoming boss of Fenwick claims he was ‘fired’ before he even started because he worked at Harrods under disgraced Mohamed Al Fayed.
More than 100 women have claimed Al Fayed, who died last year aged 94, assaulted or raped them following a shocking probe by the BBC.
And now Nigel Blow has claimed his job offer was withdrawn because of his connection to scandal-ridden Harrods.
‘Fenwick terminated my employment on a Teams call,’ he told the Mail. Blow worked at Harrods for 12 years between 1992 and 2007, during the time it was owned by Al Fayed.
He was recently boss of London department store chain Morleys and had been set to start his new job this week.
But appearing to contradict him, Fenwick said: ‘Nigel Blow has informed us he will no longer be taking up this position.’
A former chief merchant at Harrods, Blow told the Telegraph he had ‘absolutely no knowledge of anything’ related to abuse. He added: ‘It was extremely brave of the women who came out.’
