Real Madrid have reportedly made contact with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s representatives as they look to bring the Liverpool star to the Bernabeu in the summer.
The 25-year-old has been an integral components of Liverpool’s successes in recent years and has remained a key player for the Reds since Arne Slot succeeded Jurgen Klopp in the hot seat.
However, questions surrounding his future at his boyhood club have only intensified in recent months.
Like team-mates Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold’s current deal at Anfield is set to expire at the end of the season.
As a result, unless the club can get him to agree to a new deal, he can soon begin negotiating a move away from Merseyside in the summer.
Real Madrid have reportedly made contact with Trent Alexander-Arnold over joining the Spanish club when his contact expires
The 25-year-old could leave his boyhood club on a free this summer when his current contract expires
Widely recognised as one of the best full-backs in world football, Alexander-Arnold will have no shortage of suitors should he decide to test the market – but one club is reportedly determined to secure his signature.
According to Spanish publication Relevo, Real have already reached out to Alexander-Arnold’s representatives on several occasions.
The club are said to believe Trent’s close friendship with England team-mate Jude Bellingham could also work to sway a potential move in their favour.
Speaking about his future last month Alexander-Arnold appeared to indicate that he still has more goals to achieve with Liverpool.
‘Look, I have been at the club 20-years now,’ Alexander-Arnold replied when asked directly about his situation.
‘I have signed four or five contract extensions and none of those have been played out in public – and this one won’t be either.
Alexander-Arnold has spent his entire career with the Reds and made his senior debut in 2016
‘I have always said I want to captain the club – that is an aim and a goal of mine, whether that happens is out of my hands. I want to be a Liverpool player this season (as a minimum) is what I will say.
‘The most important thing is always trophies if I am honest. This season we are looking really good.’
