Love Island runners-up Ciaran Davies and Nicole Samuel break their silence on Mimii and Josh’s shock split and reveal if they have spoken to them

Ciaran Davies and Nicole Samuel haven’t spoken to Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan since their split.

The TV couple finished as runners up behind Mimii and Josh on Love Island earlier this year, but the victors announced their split earlier this week.

However, Ciaran and Nicole are yet to speak to their former co-stars although they are sure that they will be doing what is ‘best’ for them as individuals.

Ciaran and Nicole told The Sun: ‘We haven’t spoken to Josh or Mimi about it, they know what’s best for them.’ 

Just days ago, it was revealed that Mimii and Josh’s relationship had come to blows a mere two months after they claimed the £50,000 prize on the ITV2 show.

Mimii, 24, recently confirmed that despite trying to work things out after leaving the villa in July, the pair have decided to call it quits.

Sharing a statement with fans, Mimii said: ‘Hi everyone, I know that a lot of you have been wondering about Josh and I and why we haven’t been making appearances.

‘The truth is we have been trying to figure it out since leaving the villa, but unfortunately things aren’t going to work out between us right now.’

‘I know it’s a big disappointment for a lot of you as it is for me too, your support for us hasn’t gone unnoticed and I will forever be grateful for it, you guys are the reason we made it to this point. God bless you all.’

Fans had raised concerns about the couple as they were rarely seen out in public together. 

Mimii and Josh attended the National Television Awards together earlier this month for the ceremony on September 11.

But before that their only public appearance together was on August 2 when they went on Lorraine following their win. 

When they appeared on the show last month, Josh, 29, revealed that they weren’t expecting to win.

Sharing a statement with fans, Mimii said: ‘Hi everyone, I know that a lot of you have been wondering about Josh and I and why we haven’t been making appearances’

He joked: ‘No, I feel like you could tell by my reaction. It’s a meme now.’ 

Mimii then confessed to Lorraine that it feels so good to be home and around familiar faces as she claimed going on the show was the ‘best thing I ever did for myself’. 

She said: ‘It’s so good to be home, around familiar faces, embracing everything. It was a long time but we learned so much about ourselves and each other. Best thing I ever did for myself.’ 

Prior to Josh, Mimii and Ayo Odukoya, 25, were previously coupled up, however, Ayo’s head was turned during the annual Casa Amor recoupling and he ditched her for Jessica Spencer, 25,  leaving Mimii as the only single girl in the villa.
