The Mentalist star, 55, was spotted supervising removalists as they loaded up items including mattresses and homewares into the back of a truck.
Simon was wearing a simple blue T-shirt, champagne pink shorts, a white cap, and green Birkenstock slides as he instructed the removalists.
The company’s name, Ballina Movers, suggests the actor could be permanently moving to his Northern New South Wales home.
The town of Ballina is close to the small community of Nashua, where Simon maintains a country hideaway he bought for $2.9million.
Simon joins a host of Aussie stars who have been moving north of Sydney.
Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky live in Byron Bay, while Russell Crowe maintains a property near Coffs Harbour.

But while Simon might be making a celebrity tree change, there is no confirmation he is selling his luxurious Bondi pad just yet.
Last month, Simon narrowly avoided a drink driving charge after he was caught driving under the influence near his Northern NSW home.
The court was told officers were unable to get a blood alcohol reading due to the worldwide Microsoft outage at the time.
Simon was silent as he left Mullumbimby Local Court in the company of his lawyer, Peggy Dwyer.

The award-winning actor pleaded guilty to a single charge of driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol during an earlier court appearance.
Another charge of attempting to drive under the influence of alcohol was withdrawn on the same date.
Baker faced a maximum penalty of 30 penalty units or 18 months jail, or both, magistrate Kathy Crittenden said.
But the Hollywood star instead walked from court on a conditional release order to be of good behaviour for nine months.
No conviction was recorded.
