Pop star Kesha confirmed to headline Australian Open’s 2025 line-up

The musical headliner for next year’s Australian Open has been announced.

Pop star Kesha will lead the bill for the entertainment offering at the tennis event in January.

The TikTok singer, 37, will headline a line-up that also includes international artists Benson Boone, DJ and producer Kaytranada and house music icon Arman Van Helden.

The musical performances will span across the three-day tennis event held in Melbourne.

It will be Kesha’s first performance in Australia since Mardi Gras in 2020.

The singer has enjoyed viral success in recent months with her current single, Joyride, which marks the beginning of her megawatt comeback.

In a recent interview with Elle, Kesha revealed she plans to ‘shine light’ on every corner of the music industry as she builds her own record label.

‘The music industry should be f**king terrified of me,’ Kesha told the magazine, adding that she has a 10-year plan to upend the industry.

‘Because I’m about to make some major moves and shift this sh*t. I really want to dismantle it piece by piece and shine light into every corner.’

‘I hope my legacy is making sure it never happens to anybody ever again,’ she added.

It comes after a long-running feud and legal battle with the music producer Lukasz Gottwald, better known as Dr. Luke.

The singer was just 18-years-old in 2005 when she signed a six-album contract with Dr. Luke.

The two had been embroiled in a bitter legal battle for nearly a decade after Kesha claimed the producer sexually assaulted her nearly 20 years ago.

Dr. Luke then sued the pop star in 2014 claiming she defamed him by falsely accusing him of rape in 2005.

In June 2023, they reached a settlement in the years-long sexual assault and defamation battle a month before the case was due to go to trial.
