Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, wanted a new minivan for their growing family – so they got a pair of specially designed Porsches.
Zuckerberg said he designed the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Minivan vehicle alongside the designers at Porsche and the firm West Coast Customs, a southern California-based auto body shop that specializes in the modifications of luxury cars.
The Cayenne looks similar to the regular SUV but with an extensively lengthened chassis to create more space for the interior together with fully custom sliding doors.
The couple have three children and Priscilla wanted something stylish to drive the kids around in while still being able to get behind the wheel of a Porsche.

The company currently doesn’t make a minivan but if Zuckerberg’s custom design proves popular, perhaps the automaker may consider introducing a new line.
Meanwhile, Zuckerberg picked up a manual GT3 Touring which sell new for around $180,000.
‘New side quest. Priscilla wanted a minivan, so I’ve been designing something I’m pretty sure should exist: a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Minivan,’ Zuckerberg wrote.
‘Threw in a manual GT3 Touring to make it his and hers. Thanks @porsche and @westcoastcustoms for helping to make this happen,’ the Facebook founder added.
In a video posted to Instagram, the custom Cayenne looks to have been retrofitted with power sliding doors, similar to that found in a regular minivan.

It’s not known what how the car’s interiors were customized.
Porsche has ‘a ‘special wishes’ department called Sonderwunsch that allows customers to have their cars customized to their precise requirements,’ a spokesperson for the company explained.
It’s not known how much Zuckerberg, who is worth $202 billion, paid for the vehicles but a regular Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT SUV can be purchased for around $200,000.
The design drew a mixed response online.
‘This is insane.. insanely cool or insanely horrible depending on how you look at it,’ wrote one commenter.
‘He said they wanted a Porsche minivan, but that looks more like a Porsche limo. Looks too long and impractical to me,’ wrote another.
‘Just for perspective. As far as financial impact even if this car costed him $500k, it is the same to him as you or I buying a Starbucks coffee….,’ added a third.
‘Awful taste but great execution comes to mind,’ posted a fourth.
Zuckerberg turned 40 in July. The couple have three daughters, Maxima, August, and Aurelia
The family are seen together this summer as they celebrated Zuckerberg’s 40th birthday
Both cars appear to have a matching light gray finishes in a color that Porsche describes as ‘Crayon.’
In the past, Zuckerberg has been pictured in far more low key vehicles including a black Acura TSX, a Volkswagen Golf GTI hatchback, and a Honda Fit – all worth around $30,000.
However it is known the Meta CEO dropped a cool $1million on an Italian Pagani Huayra.
