The Sussexes going solo: Interactive timeline reveals just how many times Harry and Meghan have attended events on their own since start of year – and how little they’ve been together

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are spending more time apart – publicly at least, MailOnline can reveal today.

The Sussexes have entered a new phase in their pseudo-royal lives and are increasing the number of solo appearances they make.

And a new and exclusive interactive MailOnline timeline today reveals that the year began this way and the trend has sped up since the summer.

2024 started with a solo engagement when Harry collected an award for his work as a pilot at the annual ‘Living Legends of Aviation’ gala organised by John Travolta. Meghan was apparently at home because either Archie or Lilibet was under the weather.

There have been joint tours to Jamaica and Nigeria as well as a joint visit to Canada to promote the next Invictus Games in Vancouver and Whistler. But in the seven weeks since their four-day visit to Colombia in mid-August, the Sussexes have carried out no less than 11 engagements separately.

Today it emerged that a friend of the couple said the trend is all part of a new ‘twin track approach’ to events that will see them doing more alone to highlight their own personal passions and good causes, which is apparently already ‘paying off’.

But another source said today that the public should not read anything into it, insisting that any claim that they are living separate lives are ‘untrue and a bit much’.

Most recently Prince Harry has been away from home for a fortnight on a pseudo-royal tour to New York, London and South Africa with his wife and children back home in Montecito. And Meghan was at a glitzy children’s hospital gala in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

Even before the Duke of Sussex went to three continents in two weeks, Harry has made more regular visits back to the UK – but never with his wife amid a row over their security in Britain since Megxit and claims she may never visit her husband’s home country again.

Earlier this year the royal jetted into the UK to see his father King Charles III after the monarch was diagnosed with cancer. He also visited for an event to celebrate a decade of the Invictus Games and the recent funeral of his mother’s brother-in-law Lord Robert Fellowes.

There was also a boys’ trip with best friend Nacho Figueras to Asia in August to raise money for good causes through polo matches. Harry has also popped up in Vegas alone.

Scroll down to see the events the Sussexes have attended – both together and separately – in 2024 so far.
