Slowdown: Engineering firm Senior said it is slashing jobs amid difficult trading in its aerospace division
Senior is slashing its global workforce and furloughing staff in the face of issues at Boeing and Airbus.
The engineer, which is based in Hertfordshire, said the job cuts are part of a plan to save costs in response to difficult trading in its aerospace division.
Senior said it is making permanent job cuts and furloughing staff on a temporary basis, but it did not disclose how many workers are affected. It comes in response to strikes at Boeing in America, which are now entering a fourth week.
Airbus, meanwhile, is being impacted by supply chain challenges due to a shortage of parts. It is understood the production sites impacted by the cuts are largely in the US.
