Downdetecor’s website shows that Spectrum has been experiencing issues since Wednesday morning, but a flood of outage reports were issued around 8:25am ET.
Approximately 45 percent of users cited problems with landlines, 31 percent have total blackouts and 24 percent of customers cannot get a signal.
Residents in North Carolina flooded X with posts about internet issues, some noting this is the third outage in the last two weeks.
And those living in South Carolina have also shared ‘Spectrum systems are down’ even though power has been back on for a week after Hurricane Helene ripped through the area.
‘Wow. @Ask_Spectrum internet is down AGAIN. It was down for a few days after Helene, which is understandable. I got it back for about 36 hours, then it went down for another 4-5 days before it came back. It’s been back for 2 days and now it’s down again. Make it make sense,’ one customer shared on X.
However, another user not near Hurricane Milton reported they are also experiencing issues with the internet provider.
‘Tell me why the internet is down this time, hurricane milton was no where near va or sc So WHYYY,’ they posted.
Tampa local Matt Nachtrab, who appears to have been caught in Hurricane Milton, shared on X that the he has power, but ‘internet from Spectrum is down.’
However, more than 2.8 million Floridians are also without power due to the catastrophic storm.
The first casualties were reported even before Milton made landfall as a Category 3 storm around 8:30pm ET, bringing flooding, 120mph winds and several twisters.
