Erling Haaland celebrated becoming Norway’s all-time top scorer by announcing that he and girlfriend Isabel Haugseng Johansen are expecting their first child.
The Manchester City striker scored his 33rd and 34th goals for the national team in a 3-0 win over Slovenia on Thursday night.
That saw him move ahead of late Jorgen Juve in Norway’s all-time scoring charts, on a night when he also skippered the side the first time. Haaland completed the feat in only 36 matches.
But the star man’s night of celebrations were not complete as he revealed that he and Johansen are expecting a baby.
Haaland was snapped after the match with the match ball under his jersey and with his thumb in his mouth to show that he will soon become a father. He posted the image to Instagram and above it were baby and ‘coming soon’ emojis.

She is is believed to have met Haaland at the youth academy at Bryne who they both played for

Haaland joined the club at the age of five and spent more than 10 years with the Norwegian side before later having spells at RB Salzburg, Dortmund and Man City.
Johansen moved out of her native Norway to Manchester to live with Haaland in a stylish flat in the city’s Northern Quarter.
She has been more regularly seen in the public eye during Haaland’s time at Man City, celebrating with him during their trophy successes last season.
On breaking Juve’s 87-year-old record, Haaland said: ‘Of course, it is big and historic. I’m happy, and it’s a fantastic record to achieve … I have many years left. I’m enjoying myself.’
He added: ‘It was a well executed match. I am proud. It is a record that has stood for a long time … I felt good. It’s been a long time since I’ve had this much energy on the field.’

Haaland has begun the campaign in characteristically red-hot form, scoring 10 goals in his first 10 Premier League matches, though he is goalless in his last two.
Thursday night’s win sees Norway climb to the summit of their Nations League group ahead of Austria, who claimed a 4-0 win over Kazakhstan.
