Daryl Braithwaite reveals what it was really like performing with Harry Styles during his visit to Australia

Aussie music legend Daryl Braithwaite has revealed what it was like working with Harry Styles.

The Horses hitmaker, 75, told The Daily Telegraph on Sunday, his collaboration with Harry, 30, last year was ‘a thrill.’

During the English singer’s tour in Australia last year, Harry invited Daryl up on stage at Sydney’s Accor Stadium to sing The Horses with him.

‘It was a thrill. It was one of maybe a few that I’ve had over the decades because it came out of the blue, it was like, 24 hours notice, you know,’ Daryl said.

‘I actually went to see him in Melbourne and that was surreal, because I was in the crowd with a friend and we were just standing there, and they played The Horses prior to him going on.’

‘And then people started to turn around and go, “isn’t that the guy?”, the Melbourne-born singer added.

Soon after they performed together, Daryl took to Facebook to thank Harry for the ‘extraordinary experience.’

He posted a precious photo of the pair giving peace signs to the camera while they posed up a storm backstage at the event.

‘I have had such an extraordinary experience. My thanks to all the people that have passed on such lovely comments to me over that period,’ he wrote.

‘Thank you Harry for the great thrill and pleasure it gave me and your lovely army to sing The Horses with you,’ he added.

Daryl’s fans were quick to gush over the sweet photo.

‘How lucky is Harry to meet such a super talented musician like you,’ one fan wrote and another said it was ‘such a pleasure to watch you on stage with Harry’.

The British superstar was on the second gig of his visit to Sydney at Accor Stadium when he called legendary Aussie singer to the stage.

The musicians embraced before launching into Daryl’s hit iconic Horses, trading verses as they duetted.

The crowd erupted in cheers as the men performed, well aware that they were watching history in motion.

‘It’s a Where Were You Moment in Australian entertainment history!’ wrote the official Accor Stadium Twitter account.

Harry also paid compliment to Braithwaite by covering his hit Horses at his Melbourne concert on February 21.

The former lead vocalist of Sherbet repaid the hat-tip by covering Watermelon Sugar at his own Sydney concert three days later.

'It was a thrill. I mean, it was one of maybe a few that I've had over the decades,' Daryl said
