A Bahurst 1000 driver has reportedly ‘lost everything’ after a huge fire engulfed his Gold Coast home while he was racing at Mount Panorama on Saturday afternoon.

Brad Jones Racing driver Declan Fraser had partnered with Andre Heimgartner for Sunday’s big race at Mount Panorama and had learned of the devastating fire while at the event.

Several fire trucks were called to the home on Hope Island, with Seven News revealing on Sunday afternoon that the home belonged to Fraser, 24.

Fox Sports commentator Neil Crompton had revealed the extent of the fire during a live broadcast on Sunday.

‘When (Heimgartner) was out there doing his Top-10 Shootout, (Fraser’s) house burnt down,’ Crompton said to Fox Motorsport on Sunday.

‘He’s lost everything.

‘His dad spoke to me this morning. He’s asked because all his trophies are gone, he had success in Super 2, he’s asked how might we be able to be in a position to buy or replicate it.

‘He hasn’t even got clothes.’

Fox Sports understands that Fraser, 24, who had won the Super2 Series in 2022 had recently moved to Hope Island from Melbourne.

Local reports have claimed that nobody was harmed in the fire, while Fox Sports state that he had only recently moved into the area.

Mark Walding from Gold Coast’s fire department added: ‘It’s been gutted basically, so the house will have to be pulled down totally and rebuilt.’

Brodie Kostecki and Todd Hazelwood would edge out Broc Feeney and Jamie Whincup to win Sunday’s big race.

Fraser and Heimgartner would finish 16th in the ladder.

Details of the incident arose on Sunday, with Fox Sports reporting that Fraser had only recently moved into the area.
