Ashley James reveals she has ‘so much respect’ for Stacey Solomon cutting back on TV projects but she just wants to ‘get busier and busier’ as she weighs in on working mum debate

Ashley James weighed in on the struggle of being a working mother as she reacted to Stacey Solomon’s decision to cut back on work to spend more time with her five children.

The presenter, 37, discussed making the right decisions for your family as she confessed she is ‘not in a place to slow down’ and will keep working.

Ashley shares son Alfie, three, and daughter Ada, 20 months, with boyfriend Tommy Andrews.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline after landing a role as a Dyson brand ambassador, she confessed she wants to get ‘busier and busier’.

She said that while she has ‘so much respect for people like Stacey for choosing a better work-life balance’, she revealed she ‘feels like hard work in in her DNA’.

In a chat about Dyson’s new product release, the WashG1, Ashley said: ‘I’ve always loved work. My parents grew up in the northeast of England from a farming background.

‘They always had to work so hard they always had two jobs. So I feel like hard work is in my DNA.

‘But I have so much respect for people, whether it’s people in the public eye like Stacey Solomon or whether it’s people not in the public eye that are choosing a better work-life balance.

‘And I think different strokes for different folks. I encourage anyone to do what they can to find happiness, and if that’s working less and spending more time at home, or if that’s working more, if that’s changing jobs.

‘I personally feel like I’m not in a place at the moment that I want to slow down.

‘I want to keep working more and more. And I feel so lucky that, you know, I try to be really authentic in what I talk about and I really believe everything I say.’

‘So no, I definitely can’t see myself slowing down soon. I just want to get busier and busier,’ she added.

In May, Stacey, 35, revealed she was planning on becoming a stay-at-home mother for her five children and plans to virtually give up TV shows.

Stacey is mum to son Zachary, 16, with former boyfriend Dean Cox, son Leighton, 12, with  ex-fiancé Aaron Barnham, and has Rex, five, Rose, two, and Belle, 15 months, with  husband Joe Swash.

She has since landed a family Kardashian-style reality show with BBC that will see her be able to film with her family.

Meanwhile, Ashley has been working with Dyson on a campaign as it launches the new Wash G1 wet floor cleaner.

The campaign aims to get the nation’s mopping habits in order as new research from the brand found that a third of us admit to using a mop head for six months or more before changing it.

To help take the guesswork out of mopping, the brand new WashG1 is Dyson’s first dedicated wet floor cleaner that tackles wet and dry debris in one go.

The Dyson WashG1 is available to purchase now from Dyson.co.uk, retailing at £599.99.
