An Australian fitness influencer has received a torrent of negative feedback after blurring out her son’s face in a video.
Steph Claire Smith took to Instagram last week to share a sweet clip of a family outing at a monster truck show.
Smith, 30, who shares fitness and diet tips as well as motherhood updates, has previously shown her three-year-old son Harvey’s face, but decided she would hide his identity from now on.
Some of KIC co-founder’s fans thought her sudden decision was questionable.
‘Now! You’re blocking his face out?! Glad he had fun! Looks amazing!’ one commenter wrote.
‘Oh my God. Nah, that’s it I’m done. Blurred face has done it for me,’ wrote another.
‘Ikr we’ve seen him a million times,’ a third replied. ‘That’s why it’s strange.’
Soon after these comments were posted, Steph took her Instagram Stories to explain why she started pixelating her son’s face and said she was ‘so sick’ of the ‘judgement’.

Soon after these comments were posted, Steph took her Instagram Stories to explain why she was pixelating her son’s face now, and lashing out at detractors saying she was ‘so sick’ of the ‘judgement’
‘I can’t believe I’m even taking the time to talk about this,’ she began in the since-expired video.
‘But honestly, some people… I have spoken about this in my stories and on my podcast before.’

‘He is a lot more recognisable,’ the influencer said.
Steph, who has over 1.5million followers on Instagram, added that strangers were coming up to the family already knowing Harvey’s name, which was confusing the youngster.
She said that she and her husband Josh Miller decided to conceal the boy’s face as he was about to start school.
‘It absolutely baffles me how people feel like they can absolutely chime into your life and your choices,’ Steph complained in the Instagram video.
‘I understand that there are photos and stuff of him up there from the past. Our intention was not to erase him completely from the internet.
‘It was to avoid putting up anything from now as he’s growing into, as he looks like a little boy.’
