Jack Gleeson looked worlds away from his famed Game Of Thrones character as he filmed for House Of Guinness in Manchester on Tuesday.

The actor, 32, who is best known for starring as tyrant teenage king King Joffrey in the HBO series, is currently working on a new Netflix show.

Dressed in a colourful waistcoat with a red tie, he added a pair of smart grey trousers and layered over a long yellow trench coat.

Jack’s period look was topped off with a brown bowler hat, long sideburns and wild hair.

He will play Byron Hughes in House of Guinness, from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, which will explore the history of the family behind the famous brewery.

The show will be set between Dublin and New York during the 19th century, beginning after the death of Benjamin Guinness – who is credited with the brewery’s early success.

It will chronicle the extraordinary success of the family behind the famous Irish brewery, which was founded back in 1759 by Arthur Guinness.

But behind the story of wealth and prosperity lies a tragic tale of seemingly endless misfortune for the family.

From Tara Browne, who died following a car crash in South Kensington, to scandalous affairs and divorces and the tragic drowning of Honor Uloth aged just 19 in 2020, the family seems to have been dealt a series of devastating blows.

The personal losses faced by the Guinnesses have become so infamous that it is thought to be ‘cursed’, despite holding a fortune of over £900million today.

Creator Steven Knight commented: ‘The Guinness dynasty is known the world over – wealth, poverty, power, influence, and great tragedy are all intertwined to create a rich tapestry of material to draw from.

‘I’ve always been fascinated by their stories and am excited to bring the characters to life for the world to see.’

James Norton will stare alongside Jack as well as a host of famous faces.

The star-studded cast also contains Masters of the Air star Anthony Boyle, Emily Fairn who recently starred opposite Martin Freeman in The Responder, Niamh McCormack, Seamus O’Hara and Irish actress Dervla Kirwan.

Michael McElhatton and Danielle Galligan are also set to star with David Wilmot, who was cast alongside Florence Pugh in The Wonder, and Hilda Fay to complete the line up.
