Australian actress Sarah Snook has shocked her fans by making an unexpected appearance on her former high school’s podcast.
The Succession star, 36, graduated from Adelaide’s Scotch College in 2005 and returned to the school to chat about her high-flying Hollywood career this week.
In a ‘full-circle moment, she chatted with her former drama teacher and current head of theatre arts Nicola Triglau and her daughter Charlotte for the podcast.
Sarah won a drama scholarship to Scotch College in Torrens Park after attending St John’s Grammar School, and recalled how the school fostered her love of acting.
Despite now being a Golden Globe winner, she revealed she missed out on the role she really wanted in the school production of Peter Pan and was cast as Wendy.
‘I had a great time [playing Wendy]. I think I wanted to play Peter Pan is the honest answer,’ she said.
‘Peter Pan seemed to have more fun and Wendy was just looking after the boys. But I had a really good time doing that.’

Sarah went on to reveal another time her budding acting career certainly wasn’t smooth-sailing as she recalls taking over her drama class before being humbled by her teacher.
‘I was frustrated or bored and I remember just taking over a bit,’ she said.
‘I remember your mum coming over and going like: “if you’re just going to do it for other people no one is going to learn”.’
‘I was so embarrassed and ashamed because I was just trying to get it done and it was such a good lesson,’ she added.
After attending Scotch College, Sarah went on to study at Sydney’s National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), where she graduated in 2008.
She went on to star in TV series including Black Mirror, Soulmates and The Beautiful Lie before bursting to global fame in smash hit HBO drama Succession.

She rose to critical acclaim for her role as Shiv Roy – the daughter of media tycoon Logan Roy (Brian Cox), who is scuffling with her siblings to gain control of the company.
Amid her Hollywood success, she recently returned to her roots Down Under to film TV thriller All Her Fault in Melbourne.
Sarah will play the role of Marissa Irvine, who arrives at a home to pick up her young son from a playdate before a ‘nightmare’ ensues, according to synopsis of the show.
‘But the woman who answers the door isn’t a mother she recognises. She isn’t the nanny. She doesn’t have Milo. And so begins every parent’s worst nightmare,’ it reads.
The series is based on the 2021 book of the same name by author Andrea Mara.
The show, commissioned by entertainment giant NBC Universal, will be filmed in Melbourne, with award-winning director Minkie Siro helming the first episode.
‘I feel so excited about being able to work in Melbourne again,’ Snook said.
