Aussie Olympics queen Jess Fox stuns as she gets ready to start a new job that will put her way outside her comfort zone

It’s been quite a remarkable few months for Australian Olympic hero Jess Fox.

The kayaking star lit up the course at the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium at the Paris 2024 Olympics, by first producing a flawless run to finally clinch gold in the K1 canoe slalom – a medal that has eluded her for the past Olympic games.

Just three days later, the 30-year-old Aussie star would add to her medal tally, clinching her sixth Olympic medal – her third gold – by defending her C1 canoe slalom title.

‘There was so much build-up to Paris and everything I did over the last three years was geared to perform at my best during those two weeks in July and August,’ said the now three-time gold medallist told the Daily Telegraph, following her epic feats in Paris.

‘Since then it has been such a blur and a whirlwind of celebrations, opportunity, exhaustion and reflecting on such a huge moment in my career and my life.’

It seems it has been a busy few months for Fox, but after the buzz of clinching her third Olympic gold, the paddler is set to take on a new career move.

The Australian is set to join up with French beauty company L’Oreal Paris after a busy few months, Fox is now set to take on a new venture, which she says will ‘take her out of her comfort zone’.

The superstar kayaker has joined up with L’Oreal Paris and will take to the catwalk next Thursday at the Sydney Opera House as part of the Walk Your Worth Runway event.

The event will celebrate women’s empowerment and Fox admitted she was excited for the ‘unforgettable opportunity’.

‘I’m both excited and nervous,’ Fox said.

‘Walking a runway, especially in heels, is definitely outside my comfort zone, but the iconic Sydney Opera House backdrop makes it an unforgettable opportunity. I can’t wait to meet the other incredible women and celebrate being part of this movement.’

Fox, in fact, was born in Marseille, France, and moved to Penrith when she was just four years old.

Canoeing also runs in the family, with her father being former Great Britain canoeist Richard Fox. Her mother is Myriam Fox-Jerusalmi, who competed at two Summer Olympics, winning bronze in the K1 kayaking event at the 1996 Atalanta Games.

‘L’Oréal Paris is a brand I’ve known and loved since I was a teenager buying my first mascara and lipstick,’ Fox added.

‘Being born in France, I remember growing up seeing the ads in French and English, and that French connection makes it such a lovely fit.’

She’ll join up with several other stars for the event, including actor Madeleine Madden and model Riley Hemson. Paralympian Ellie Cole is also set to star at the event, alongside journalist and broadcaster Jessica Rowe.

Since returning home, Fox says she’s been reflecting on what’s been a sensational summer of sport.

In recent weeks, Fox says her training scheme has been ‘more relaxed’ and was ‘enjoying paddling and going to the gym’

‘It was everything I dreamed about and the reality of being home has left me a little overwhelmed with the love and support from everyone. One thing I expected to feel was a lack of motivation for training which is completely normal given what we just did at the Games.

‘So for now training is a bit more relaxed and I’m enjoying paddling and going to the gym without the same intensity as the Games build-up.’
