He has just found out his ex-girlfriend and woman he gave a promise ring to is engaged to a woman after three months of dating.
So the Bachelor’s Richie Strahan, 32, is understandably taking some time to digest the news – given he reportedly wanted to propose to Alex Nation, 26, last year.
A source told New Weekly the singleton had grand plans to seal the deal but was stopped by his leading lady herself.

‘Richie never proposed to Alex because she was constantly telling him she just wanted to “enjoy this chapter” after The Bachelor finished,’ the anonymous source said.
‘She said they “just weren’t there yet”. And now after only three months with Maegan she’s planning her forever. It hurts!’

The pair look positively delighted, packing on the PDA beside the ocean on a spectacular spring day.
Alex was wearing a diamond sparkler which featured a white gold tear drop cut with a diamond-encrusted band.
The ladies met in August playing for the same AFL Women’s team, the Frankston Bombers.
Just two days prior to their engagement, mum-of-one Alex spoke openly about moving in together and the day Meagan met her six-year-old son, Elijah.
‘I feel relieved that I can finally talk about it now,’ she told the Herald Sun on Friday.
‘As of the last few weeks we’ve lived together. It’s been really nice. It just feels so good. Nothing forced or scary.

The 26-year-old, who revealed she has never been with a woman before Meagan, said she felt feelings for the 31-year-old that were unlike emotions she had ever had with her other female friends.
Although initially hesitant to start a relationship so soon after her split from Bachelor boyfriend Richie Strahan, she eventually ‘muscled up the courage’ to go for it.
Meanwhile Richie has been social media shy of late and has yet to speak openly about Alex’s new relationship – only seeking to post one Instagram photo a month.
Alex has previously said she hasn’t spoken to her ex-boyfriend Richie about Meagan but there were no ill feelings toward each other and she hoped he found happiness with someone else.
Alex won over Perth-based rope technician Richie in the Bachelor’s third season – with many viewers at the time critical of the sandy-haired hunk for kicking Nikki Gogan to the curb.
At the time Richie spoke about how certain he had been of Alex – right from the very beginning – but things quickly turned sour.
While they never officially addressed their break up tense photographs emerged of the two earlier this year that showed Alex crying.
Shortly after news of the 26-year-old’s relationship with Maegan broke.
