NFL star undergoes surgery after sickening injury ruled him out for the season

New Orleans Saints star cornerback Paulson Adebo has learned how long he with be sidelined for after suffering a gut-wrenching injury on Thursday night against the Denver Broncos.

Adebo underwent surgery Friday morning for a broken femur, with a timeline to full recovery slated between four and five months, per ESPN.

That timeline puts Adebo at full health around the time his contract is up in New Orleans and he becomes an unrestricted free agent.

The injury occurred on Thursday night when Adebo was attempting to tackle Broncos running back Javonte Williams.

As Adebo led with his shoulder trying to bring Williams to the ground, and mostly missing the tailback, his contact with the turf immediately caused him pain.

Saints star Paulson Adebo will be full healthy again around March when his contract is up

Adebo was one of the Saints’ best defenders this season with 52 total tackles and three interceptions.

New Orleans’ hot start to the season has come to a complete stop over the last several weeks.

The Saints started the season with two wins, scoring a combined 91 points.

Since then, New Orleans has lost five straight games, not scoring more than 27 points in a single contest.

Now with Adebo out of the lineup, the Saints’ road to rewriting their season took another step back.

The Saints schedule does lighten up in the second half of their season, with games against the Panthers, Browns, Giants, and Rams still to be played.
