Nathan Cleary might be the best player in rugby league right now – but his girlfriend Mary Fowler has revealed one skill that needs more work

  • Camera skills of the NRL superstar leave a lot to be desired
  • Was left red-faced after recent Instagram story from Mary Fowler
  • Power couple are determined to make their relationship work

Nathan Cleary is the world’s best rugby league player in many people’s eyes – but his photography skills definitely need some fine-tuning.

The Panthers halfback, 26, is currently holidaying abroad with his girlfriend – Matildas and Manchester City star Mary Fowler – and he showed his romantic side publicly after she posted some images from a recent football trip to Austria.

‘You take some nice photos hey,’ Cleary posted on Instagram in response to Fowler’s photo dump from Vienna.

Fowler then posted another image on Friday in an Instagram story – and the footy superstar would have been cringing.

The picture had the accompanying image – ‘nice photo babes’ – after Cleary attempted to take a quick snap – with the camera lens still on.

Earlier this week, Fowler, 21, scored the winner for the Citizens in their 3-2 win against St.Pölten in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

She headed home in the 80th minute to seal a valuable three points on the road after fellow Aussie Alanna Kennedy opened the scoring with a rocket from 25 yards.

‘Just happy to get that win with the girls and obviously being able to help in that way with a goal feels really good,’ Fowler said.

‘I’m most proud of the girls for being able to come from behind and change that energy and get the result in the end.’

Cleary, who is expected to soon return to Australia for shoulder surgery, recently opened up about his relationship in detail for the first time.

He explained how Fowler has changed his life for the better.

‘I’ve loved it, it’s all I ever could have dreamed of in having a partner, to be honest,’ he told Channel Nine’s Marlee and Me podcast.

‘It’s just added new perspective but it’s also added an extra layer that when things are going good you want to share with them and want to talk about it….and when things aren’t going good, they’re there too.

‘[She is] super supportive and I’ve absolutely loved it. It’s just a great addition to life to be honest, and made me really happy.

‘Love wins.’
