Alvin Kamara erupts in furious social media rant as he responds to explosive trade rumors

New Orleans Saints star Alvin Kamara adamantly shut down rumors he was looking for a way out of the Big Easy in a series of social media rants on Saturday.

The wide receiver took to social media at the weekend to hit back at online claims he had requested a trade from New Orleans following the Saints’ 33-10 Week 7 defeat at the hands of the Denver Broncos

The 29-year-old branded one report ‘incorrect’ as he replied to a post that has since been deleted, claiming he ‘had formally requested a trade.’

The veteran’s tirade against the rumors continued in another tweet in which he slammed them as a lie and suggested he was on his way to Tennessee to watch his alma mater face Alabama in a key SEC matchup Saturday.

‘I ain request a trade.. so that’s a lie. I’m in an orange robe on the way to Knoxville..#WhoDat,’ he posted.

Kamara later doubled down on his insistence that he was staying in New Orleans as he warned fans not to believe any trade rumors unless the information came from him himself.

‘If it’s any news I’ll report that s*** from my couch asum.. or I’ll call my brutha @Cantguardmike and have him break the news ❤️ other than that we vibed out,’ he wrote, referring to free agent Michael Thomas.

The trade speculation came after Kamara suffered his worst game of the season in Thursday night’s loss to the Broncos.

The wideout rushed for just 10 yards on seven carries and caught six passes for 14 yards in the Saints’ home defeat.

Kamara enjoyed a spectacular start to the season – just like the entire Saints team -rushing for 362 yards and five touchdowns, while catching 17 passes for 174 yards and one score over the first four games.

The stellar start was highlighted by a massive 180 total yards and four touchdowns in a 44-19 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2.

However, his production has taken a considerable hit over the past three weeks with Kamara managing only 76 rushing yards and one touchdown on 31 carries to go along with 17 receptions for 78 yards.

The Saints had an explosive start to the season going 2-0 through the first two weeks under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.

But they have since slipped to a five-game skid, averaging just 17.3 over the last five weeks with veteran quarterback Derek Carr sidelined through injury.

The Saints rewarded Kamara with a five-year, $75 million contract in 2020, which is set to expire at the end of the 2025 season.
