Australia’s top ten regular programs have been revealed

Channel Seven has finished the year with a bang, as it’s announced the network is the most watched in Australia.

And even though Nine lost out by a mere 0.1 percent for the top spot, Seven can thank shows like The Good Doctor for giving them a welcome boost.

The Sydney Morning Herald has released the top ten most watched programs for the year across all networks, with some surprising contenders.

In first place was Nine’s debut sport series Australian Ninja Warrior, which saw 50 contestants compete in a series of grueling physical challenges, similar to the US show, Wipeout.

More than 1.64 million Aussies tuned in for each episode, even when there was some controversy surrounding who the eventual winner would be.

At number two was The Block’s Sunday night edition, with 1.474 million viewers on average.

The Block’s Monday show came in at number four with 1.314 million and Tuesday night was number nine at 1.232 million.
