Sickening moment woman randomly punched a toddler being held in her mother’s arms at a busy shopping centre

A desperate search is underway to find a woman who randomly punched a toddler at a busy shopping centre.

The terrifying incident unfolded at Park Centre on the Albany Highway in East Victoria Park in Perth’s south-east about 1.25pm on Tuesday. 

The footage showed a woman with short bleached hair walking up to the toddler being held in her mother’s arms.

Seconds later. she reached out and attacked the little girl before her mother quickly moved back. 

The woman then fled the scene.

The toddler sustained facial injuries.

The woman is not known to the mother or the child.

The hunt continues for the woman, who is described as medium build and was wearing a pink singlet, grey shorts with white stripes and blue sneakers.

Anyone with information about the woman’s whereabouts is asked to contact to police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The incident follows another shocking attack on an innocent baby.

In August, nine-month-old baby Luka was injured by a stranger while having a picnic with his mother at a Brisbane park.

Police allege a man approached the baby boy and poured a Thermos of hot coffee on him, burning his face and chest.

The 33-year-old man was identified by Chinese media after he allegedly fled the country on his own passport a day before he was identified by Queensland Police.

Luka was left with serious burns on up to 60 per cent of his body and has undergone four surgeries, with the potential he may also need a skin graft.
