Another gangland attack has struck Sydney after as many as 10 bullets were fired into a home.
Locals reported two men wearing balaclavas fired on the home on Chisholm Rd in Auburn, in Sydney’s Western Suburbs, just after 3pm.
A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said they were called to the scene but were ‘not required’ to treat anyone.
Police were told the men in dark clothing were seen running from a car which had been set alight in Carramar, about 7km west of the shooting, about 15 minutes later.
Footage from the scene shows the silver sedan engulfed in flames with a jerry can left on the road beside it.
One local in high-vis attempted to put out the blaze with a fire extinguisher, but its severity meant it could only be extinguished by firefighters who arrived soon after.
Local police, the Dog Squad and PolAir are canvasing the area around Atkin Street where two men were reportedly last seen running from the vehicle.
‘Both incidents are believed to be linked and crime scenes have been established at the locations that will be examined by specialist officers,’ a statement from NSW Police reads.

Anyone with information, including dashcam footage, has been urged to contact police.
It comes after an escalation in shootings believed to be linked to Sydney’s underworld.
The public attacks included five targeted shootings in a single week in mid-July.
They add to the dozens of tit-for-tat gangland shootings have struck the city since 2020, driven by a war between rival crime organisations.
Three men stormed into the apartment of a 29-year-old man on Figtree Drive, in the city’s inner west, before shooting him several times just before 3am last Friday
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the victim at the scene before rushing him to hospital for further treatment.
He suffered serious injuries but is expected to make a full recovery.
Police are investigating whether a burnt-out silver 4WD, found nearby in Lidcombe, was used as the trio’s getaway car.
More to come.
