Man locked in a tense 10-hour siege with cops posts bizarre videos during the ordeal

Bizarre videos have emerged of a man accusing police of ‘terrorising’ residents during a 10 hour siege.

Max Freedom Pollard, 31 was allegedly involved in a standoff after heavily armed police swarmed an Dudley Street apartment in Coogee in Sydney’s east on Tuesday.

Officers armed with guns and even a chainsaw surrounded the apartment block just before 11am following reports of a concern for welfare.

Pollard was arrested after police entered his unit at about 8.20pm.

He was charged with several firearms offences, including possession of an unauthorised pistol and prohibited firearms, and failure to keep firearms safely.

During the day-long police operation, Pollard filmed several videos of himself before he uploaded the clips to Instagram.

‘Attached are clips from NSW police’s unsuccessful raid on my top floor apartment in Coogee, Australia. They’re doing their best and still trying as I type this,’ he wrote.

‘They’re terrorising Coogee, attacking and avoiding Australia’s judiciary and the Commonwealth Government, and bragging about it’.

Pollard accused police in one video of using snipers, which he claimed ‘has been scaring the entire community’.

He also uploaded a video of an armed tactical officer, who had made his way up the stairwell of the apartment and a clip he filmed of his interaction with a police sniper.

The officer holding the sniper was seen standing on the rooftop of an apartment opposite to the unit Pollard lives in.

Pollard is heard claiming to the tactical officer that he didn’t have any firearms.

The officer could be heard telling Pollard ‘we’re here for you’ before telling him to leave the apartment.

‘We are here for you, we are concerned for your welfare so go out the front,’ the officer said.

Pollard replied: ‘The sniper rifle is a little intimidating I’m not going to lie.

‘To be clear I have no firearms … I had them and gave them up because I don’t want firearms.’

In another video, a policeman and his female colleague were seen entering the unit ‘for a chat’ with Pollard.

The male officer told Pollard a concerned neighbour had accused him of allegedly sending texts and Whatsapp messages.

The officer informed Pollard that he had been given a notice to leave the apartment by November.

Pollard was treated by paramedics before he was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for further treatment.

After he was arrested, police allegedly seized two unauthorised firearms and a ballistic vest.

Pollard was refused bail when he appeared in Waverley Local Court on Wednesday.

No plea was entered and the case will return to court next month.

Pollard claims on his LinkedIn to have worked for Harvard University as a staff member for the Australian Crime Intelligence Commission and as a ‘security equipment specialist’.
