Natalie Cassidy reveals the real reason she hasn’t married partner Marc Humphreys after nine-year engagement

Natalie Cassidy has revealed the real reason why she hasn’t yet married her partner Marc Humphreys.

The EastEnders actress, 41, and the BBC cameraman began dating in 2014 before getting engaged a year later and welcoming daughter Joanie in 2016. She is also mother to Eliza, 14, from a previous relationship.

But after a long engagement the lovebirds still haven’t planned their big day with Natalie admitting what’s holding her back.

Speaking to Jen Brister and Kerry Godliman on the Memory Lane podcast, the soapstar revealed she’s ‘a bit of a snob.’

‘Do you know what? It’s a lot of money. No, I tell you what it is; it’s time and budget. It is because I go, ‘I’ll only do something small; I don’t need to…'” she began.

‘I will do it small but I want to be at The Ledbury. Oh, I want a Michelin star meal or I’m just a bit of a snob genuinely.

‘I’ll want the best flowers and I will want a designer suit,’ Natalie admitted.

While it’s his job to stay behind the scenes, viewers were given a glimpse at Marc during soap special, Secrets From The Square.

In 2020, when the show was forced off air for the first time in its 35 year history due to the pandemic, it was replaced with a spin off show that looked back at classic episodes.

During one episode, viewers were left shocked as Marc made a surprise cameo.

Adam Woodyatt, who plays Ian Beale on the show, made the reference as host Stacey Dooley joked that the cast and crew were standing too close for social distancing protocols.

Adam quipped: ‘He’s with Nat,’ going on to joke that’s the only reason they were friends.

He added: ‘We don’t actually mean it. We can’t stand Marc. But we have to be nice to him because he’s with Nat.’

Visibly shocked, Stacey exclaimed: ‘Oh, are you? You’re Sonia’s husband? Oh, that’s amazing.’

While Marc was kept busy filming the docuseries, Natalie stayed at home, not appearing in any of the 14 episodes.
