Stephen A. Smith reveals who he’ll vote for during tense confrontation over Donald Trump on Fox show

Stephen A. Smith has suggested he will be voting for Kamala Harris after admitting he would have sided with ‘almost any Republican’ but Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election.

The ESPN host appeared on Fox on Thursday night and argued with Sean Hannity, who was desperately trying to defend Trump’s mental state.

The 57-year-old sports pundit was brought on to discuss Vice President Kamala Harris’ run for Oval Office, but found himself attacking Trump after Hannity suggested the Democratic candidate struggles to speak in public.

During the interview, Hannity also appeared to claim Smith was ‘privately’ going to vote for Trump.

That’s despite Smith telling The Los Angeles Times last month he thinks Harris will win the White House.

Speaking about his voting preference, Smith explained: ‘I told you I’m on the record.

‘I’d have voted almost for any Republican but him. Nikki Haley. Chris Christie. But not him.’

Smith got a furious reaction from Hannity as they argued about Trump’s mental state with less than two weeks to go until America heads to the polls.

‘She has to give us word salads because she won’t tell us how she really feels. She’s hiding her true beliefs,’ Hannity said. ‘Donald Trump doesn’t do that.’

Trump has had a series of recent on-stage gaffes during events, including an event with Smith’s former ESPN colleague Sage Steele, whom the former President referred to as ‘Paige.’ He’s also canceled some events this week amid reports of exhaustion.

‘I know you’re not talking about someone being lucid and cogent, and enunciating their thoughts with clarity, and you’re bragging about Donald Trump,’ Smith said. ‘We can’t be watching the same stuff if that’s what you’re doing.

‘You’re not gonna do that today.’

Smith, who has criticized liberal and conservative politicians over the years, was quick to note that another Hannity guest, Senator Lindsey Graham, ‘can articulate himself very well.’

He then added: ‘Not Donald Trump, now.’

Hannity tried to interject, but only managed to spin his wheels as Smith put his hand to his chin and smirked into the camera.

‘I have sat with him for hour after hour after hour, topic after topic after topic and he is so dialed in,’ Hannity said.

Again, Smith wasn’t having it.

‘Really?’ he asked. ‘Didn’t he cancel his press conferences?’

Smith made it clear that he does not oppose the Grand Old Party in its entirety, but refuses to listen to Hannity defend Trump’s integrity.

‘When you bring up issues in terms of character, or in terms of being truthful, or whatever, let me tell you something right now: You can bring a whole bunch of Republicans and I’ll be cool with it,’ he said. ‘You can’t bring up Trump to make a case against somebody else using those arguments.’
