Channel Seven has announced their Sydney weekend news will a have fresh look.
The troubled network has confirmed weather presenter Angie Asimus will be co-anchor of the 6pm bulletin from Friday to Sunday alongside news veteran Michael Usher.
Long time Seven journo Asimus, 39, will continue presenting the weather for Sydney’s weekly news with Mark Ferguson and Angela Cox at the desk.
A former fill-in Sunrise presenter, Asimus said her new gig was a ‘dream come true.’
‘Journalism has given me a front row seat to so many memorable moments in history, and now I’m taking up a different seat next to someone whom I respect immensely,’ she gushed in a statement.
Beginning her 16-year career for Seven Queensland in Townsville in 2008, Animus later earned a spot on Seven Morning News in 2013.
She joined Sydney News as weather presenter in 2020.
Meanwhile, Usher, 54, is a network veteran who initially began his career at Channel Nine in 1990.

He joined Seven in 2016 and is well known to viewers for his hard hitting investigative pieces on Spotlight.
It comes after Sharyn Ghidella’s replacement was been announced earlier this month after the beloved anchor made a controversial exit from Channel Seven in July.
Sarah Greenhalgh will step in as co-anchor of 7News Brisbane’s flagship 6pm bulletin, it was revealed on Friday.

Greenhalgh, a respected star in the industry known for her coverage of global conflicts, will join Max Futcher from Monday, October 21.
Coming home to my original 7News family is a huge thrill,’ Greenhalgh said in a statement.
Her new co-star Futcher chimed in: ‘I can’t wait for our viewers to get to know Sarah too, as we share the news that matters to them each weeknight’.
Greenhalgh is a Walkley and Kennedy Award winner and was previously part of the investigative team at 7News Spotlight.
Ghidella meanwhile made her comeback to the airwaves in September as she started her new gig on Channel 10 news.
The Queensland-based news presenter, 57, was sacked from 7News earlier this year 17 years with the network amid a string of media job cuts.
She has now joined Network 10 to anchor the 5pm Queensland news bulletin.
Ghidella has presented the network’s Brisbane bulletin since 2013 but was axed from her role after 17 years.

Seven West Media slashed 150 editorial staff in a round of redundancies which claimed big names including Ghidella and Queensland veteran weatherman Paul Burt.
Seven Network’s recently appointed news and current affairs boss Anthony De Ceglie has been replacing sections leaders across the country with younger managers.
He has also introduced a Friday night comedy spot and astrology to the news.
Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide all have fresh news directors, and new executive producers have been put in charge of Sunrise, Weekend Sunrise and Spotlight.
The network has also axed veterans Robert Ovadia, Andrew Frampton and seasoned Melbourne crime reporter Cameron Baud, who is known among friends as the ‘Harvester of Sorrow’ due to his grim news beat.
On the Sydney front, Ovadia – perhaps the most high profile of all the figures axed up until Ghidella’s – has announced he will take Seven to the Fair Work Commission for unfair dismissal.
