- Khamzat Chimaev beat Robert Whittaker with a first-round submission
- Max Holloway was later knocked out by Ilia Topuria in their title contest
- Conor McGregor had bet $500k on Whittaker and Holloway to win by KO
Conor McGregor has issued a response after the UFC legend suffering a stunning $500,000 (£385,000) loss betting on UFC 308.
The former two-weight champion claimed that he had staked half a million on Max Holloway and Robert Whittaker each to record wins by knockout on Saturday night, only for both of those selections to lose
Khamzat Chimaev beat Whittaker with a first-round submission before Holloway missed his featherweight title shot when he was knocked out by Ilia Topuria.
Just moments after Topuria had beaten Holloway, McGregor delivered a two-word response via social media.
‘Call me,’ tweeted McGregor – who previously held the featherweight title in 2015.

McGregor and Topuria have had beef in the past and it seems as though the Irishman is keen to take on the current king of his former division.
In his last two fights Topuria has defeated two of the four men often mentioned in debates about MMA’s greatest ever featherweights.
The other two also remain in the UFC.
Jose Aldo now plies his trade at 135lbs and is unlikely to get a shot at gold following his defeat by Mario Bautista earlier this month.
But McGregor seems interested in making a fight that many fans would love to see.
