Ohio State fans resorted to throwing trash on the field on Saturday following a controversial call during their game vs. Nebraska.
With Nebraska driving down 21-17 late in the fourth quarter, the Buckeyes’ Arvell Reese was flagged for targeting after a hit on Jahmal Banks that broke up a pass.
And after the call was upheld following a review – resulting in a 15-yard penalty and Banks being ejected – both Ohio State fans and their coach, Ryan Day, lost their composure.
Several plastic water bottles were launched onto the field, with the game being briefly delayed and Ohio State being given a sideline warning.
Meanwhile, an enraged Day slammed his headset to the ground and yelled at referees following the decision.

Fox Sports rules analyst Mike Pereira even added that Day was fortunate not to be penalized himself for his on-field reaction to the targeting call.
Nonetheless, Ohio State would go on to win despite losing Reese.
Five plays later, Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola was picked off on 3rd-and-19, and Ohio State was able to kneel out the clock from there for a narrow win.
The Buckeyes are now 6-1 on the season, with their only loss coming at Oregon – now the No. 1 team in the nation.
Saturday was not the first time that trash has been thrown on the field this season by college football fans.

Last weekend, Texas Longhorns supporters did the same during their team’s loss to Georgia – a move which was slammed by actor Matthew McConaughey.
‘We’re better than that,’ the huge Texas fan wrote on X. ‘Longhorn Nation knows how to show up, show out like no other, and still keep our class. So, going forward, let’s clean that kind of BS up and leave that behind us for good.’
Ohio State will travel to Penn State next weekend for a massive Big Ten clash.
