Pitt’s action drama began production more than a year ago.

It kicked off in July 2023 at the Silverstone Circuit in the United Kingdom, where the Fight Club star was seen racing during several Grand Prix events.

The feature follows retired Formula One driver Sonny Hayes (Brad), who returns to the sport when a friend encourages him to become a mentor.

After Saturday’s qualifying races were finished, an area of the track was dedicated to shooting scenes, per an account from Hello.

At the end, Brad popped out from his car, removed his helmet, then waved to a crowd of cheering spectators.

Joseph Kosinski is directing the film, which also stars  Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon, Damson Idris, Sarah Niles and Tobias Menzies.

Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton produced the film alongside Pitt and Jerry Bruckheimer.

It was made in collaboration with Formula 1 and the F1 community, with all 10 F1 teams, their drivers, the FIA, and race promoters contributing to the authenticity of the story.

F1 was acquired by Apple for somewhere between $130 million and $140 million, which does not include the salaries of the lead actors, director, writer and producers, per Deadline.

The movie has been filmed at various F1 races including locations such as Hungary, Belgium, and Las Vegas.

Filming is expected to continue into December when the Abu Dhabi race takes place.

Some fans were unimpressed by the movie’s title when it was announced. Taking to social media to react, one person wrote: ‘What a boring and unimaginative title.’

Another said dryly: ‘Must have taken them ages to come up with that.’
