Two women hauled off British Airways flight after a ‘brawl broke out at Heathrow over a passenger wearing a Donald Trump MAGA hat’: Plane held on tarmac for hours

Two women were hauled off a British Airways flight after a brawl reportedly broke out over a passenger wearing a Donald Trump MAGA baseball cap.

The incident happened as passengers waited in Heathrow’s Terminal 5 to board the BA191 flight to Austin, Texas, on October 28, the Sun reports.

One woman told another female passenger to take off the red hat she was wearing, with presidential nominee Donald Trump’s ‘Make America Great Again’ (MAGA) slogan on it.

When the Trump supporter refused, punches were reportedly thrown. The brawl continued onboard, in the aircraft’s premium economy, where both women were seated.

Police were called and the women – who were still shouting insults at each other – were escorted off the plane.

The plane was held on the tarmac for two hours due to the brawl. The flight was scheduled for departure at 12.10pm, but only actually left Heathrow at 2.11pm.

Neither of the women was arrested, but they allegedly both accused each other of affray while being questioned by police.

A source at Heathrow airport told the Sun that tensions were ‘sky high’ this close to the US election on November 5.

‘Airline crew could not run the risk of a full scale punch-up at 30,000ft,’ the source named as the reason why the woman were removed from the aircraft.

The source furthermore said there had been no similar incident where a BA flight was delayed due to a baseball cap, making this brawl ‘extraordinary’.

The Met Police described the women as one being in her 40s and another being in her 60s, according to the Sun. The probe into the incident on the BA flight is ongoing.
