The explosive moment police swooped on the petrol-soaked home of sordid love triangle family

Dramatic footage shows the moment a jilted husband who went on a rampage with a shovel after finding his wife and brother having sex in a car while his mother sat in the front seat, is arrested for allegedly breaching a restraining order.

David McCulloch, 41, grabbed a shovel and threatened to kill his wife, Jacinta King, and brother, Jamie McCulloch, when he found them having an affair in the back of a car in Devonport, northern Tasmania, on the evening of March 28.

He was particularly angry because his mother, Sue McCulloch, had driven them to the commission housing parking lot and was sitting in the driver’s seat while they had sex – apparently unfazed by what was going on behind her.

McCulloch was granted bail in May and ordered to comply with an interim family violence order for the protection of Ms King.

However, he allegedly breached the order during a second rampage at the family’s government-owned home on the morning of July 19.

A dramatic video, obtained by Daily Mail Australia, shows a number of police cars, fire engines and ambulances parked out the front of the property, while officers broke windows and barged their way inside.

Power to the home was cut and a screaming McCulloch – who had locked himself in one room of the house – was dragged from the property, handcuffed, and taken away by paramedics.

Neighbours said the scope of the emergency response was because petrol had been poured throughout the premises, prompting fears for the family’s welfare.

In the video, a number of police officers could be seen breaking through windows and doors to get inside the house.

Family members could be heard screaming and swearing.

Once McCulloch was outside, he could be heard yelling, ‘My f***ing dog!’ before an officer ran up the driveway and retrieved the runaway pet.

A neighbour said screaming from the property woke her up that morning.

She ran outside to see what was going on and saw McCulloch struggling on the ground while police tried to put him in handcuffs.

‘He had a bottle of water next to him, so I don’t know if they pepper-sprayed him or something,’ she said.

McCulloch was later charged with breaching a family violence order. The matter is before the courts.

The family moved out of the property following the altercation, but some of their belongings are still inside.

Last week, McCulloch was sentenced in Burnie Supreme Court to three years in jail over the shovel attack on March 28.

The violent altercation only ended when a concerned resident phoned police.

The resident told Daily Mail Australia that she saw Sue’s car out the front that night, but didn’t realise what was going on until David grabbed the shovel and started banging on the vehicle.

She recalled him screaming: ‘You’re nothing but a dog, you f***ing dog, you’re meant to be my brother, how could you root my wife?’

Sue locked the car doors and Jamie continued to have sex with Jacinta, until David prised it open and started throwing punches.

David then turned to Sue, screaming, ‘You’re no mother, f***ing a**hole, you’re nothing but a sl*t,’ and shoved her into a wheelie bin.

Daily Mail Australia previously revealed McCulloch’s mother facilitated the affair between his brother and wife because she was the only one with a driver’s licence.

McCulloch’s wife, Ms King, had ordered her mother-in-law to stay in the vehicle during their rendezvous, and she complied.

While McCulloch is behind bars, Ms King and his brother Jamie shacked up together in a squalid caravan parked in the driveway outside a suburban home.

When approached for comment, Jamie described the situation as ‘hog wash’, but was otherwise unable to string a coherent sentence together.

Asked if he knew if his brother was in jail, Jamie laughed and mumbled: ‘I know.’

On Thursday, the new couple drove together to the Salvation Army store in Devonport and appeared disappointed when it was closed.

McCulloch will be eligible for parole in 2025.
