A resounding crash awoke sleeping neighbors in rural Philadelphia as a woman was hit and left to die in the street’s of the city’s Wissinoming section.
Philadelphia Police are now searching for a driver and vehicle involved in the deadly Saturday morning hit-and-run accident.
The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene as she was hit with such force she was allegedly sent flying 200-feet into the street and both her sneakers were knocked off. She is believed to be in her late 20’s to early 30’s.

The tragic crash happened around 2:30 am in the 4800 block of Levick Street, surveillance video shows
‘There are numerous broken car parts and pieces we believe were broken off of the striking vehicle from the impact,’ Chief Inspector Scott Small of the Philadelphia Police Department, said.
Clothes and jewelry said to be worn by the victim were found hundreds of feet from her body, police say, adding ‘it was clear the driver was going way too fast’ and that the driver did not stop.

Neighbors who stirred awake by the loud boom of the crash told police the driver was speeding when the victim was fatally struck.
The haunting surveillance footage shows what police are describing as a dark-colored SUV speeding away from the scene.
But, this isn’t the first incident as ABC spoke to neighbors who say speeding is a regular occurrence as cars exit the nearby Tacony-Palmyra Bridge.

‘They keep happening, and they get closer and closer to home. I mean, you can’t get closer to home than this,’ the concerned neighbor said. She also added that she has witnessed fatalities before.
‘There was a guy who was hit on his bike that was killed. There was a head-on collision on the bridge,’ she added before urging the driver to come forward.
‘Hopefully the right person turns himself in.’
Police say the suspect was driving a black or dark-colored SUV as they are reviewing surveillance camera footage with hopes to reveal a model or year of the suspected vehicle.
