Robert De Niro crashes Philadelphia Eagles tailgate to give anti-Donald Trump speech

Robert De Niro was a surprise guest at the Philadelphia Eagles tailgate on Sunday afternoon, encouraging people to get out and vote for Kamala Harris in Pennsylvania.

De Niro was joined by former Secretary of State John Kerry in one late attempt to get as many people as possible to vote Democrat.

The state of Pennsylvania is key to whoever emerges victorious in Tuesday’s election, with Harris and Donald Trump more or less neck-and-neck in the polls with election day nearing.

And the 81-year-old De Niro wasn’t going to let any time go to waste before voters hit the polls, joining stunned Eagles fans who were gearing up to see their team face Jacksonville Jaguars.

Stunned fans even filmed De Niro giving a speech defending women’s rights with hundreds of fans gathered round.

One fan shared a clip to X and wrote as the caption: ‘Standing in M lot at a birds tailgate listening to Robert De Niro defend women’s rights and s*** talk trump is a casual Sunday.’

The Eagles themselves shared a picture of De Niro at the event with the caption: ‘Eagles tailgates remain elite.’

It’s hard to hear precisely what De Niro says in the videos circulating online. But the actor has never made any secret of how much he dislikes Trump.

In September, speaking on CNN, he called the Republican candidate and former President a ‘jerk’ and ‘an idiot’ in a stinging attack.

‘I never wanted anything to do with him. He’s a jerk. He’s an idiot. Who wants to meet a clown like that?’ De Niro said.

‘You’ve got to help everybody. People are going to get overlooked — that happens. But at least you have somebody who’s sensitive to the condition of the country, the people.

‘And I’m not saying this like this because it’s Kamala Harris — but it is. We need someone like her to do it.

‘She’ll make mistakes. Of course, everybody does. But we need somebody with the right intentions. This guy has does not have the right intentions, and everybody knows that. It’s insanity. Period.’
