A man has been allegedly assaulted and his mother almost run over after he attempted to sell his Ford Falcon on Facebook Marketplace.
The 20-year-old man was allegedly punched and kicked in a carpark on Siganto Drive, near Westfield Helensvale on Queensland’s Gold Coast, at about 6pm on Sunday.
The man had organised for his mum to drive him home after he made arrangements to meet up with the online buyer of his grey Ford Falcon.
The sale quickly turned ugly when five teenage boys arrived in a white Holden ute and threatened to assault the man if he didn’t hand over the keys.
When he tried to flee the carpark he was caught by the group who allegedly punched and kicked the man before driving away in his Ford Falcon.
In CCTV from the carpark, the man’s mother was seen desperately trying to stop the group by blocking the Holden ute with her body.
‘I need police now! You motherf******’ she is heard screaming as they drive away.
Queensland Police Superintendent Scott Knowles said the man’s mother had managed to take a photo of the ute’s number plates amid the chaos.

A police spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia one of the members of the group allegedly confronted the 20-year-old man before he was allegedly assaulted.
The man also had his car keys allegedly stolen off him.
However, it was revealed the plates were fake when police investigated.
The Holden ute was found at a home in Longstaff Crescent, in Pimpama, around 30km north-west of the Gold Coast, at 7.30pm on Sunday.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested by officers and charged with robbery.
Police also found a phone that the boy had allegedly used to film the entire exchange.
He remained in custody overnight on Sunday and appeared before the Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police are still trying to track down the Ford Falcon as investigations continue.
Anyone who has seen a grey Ford Falcon station wagon with no number plates has been urged to contact police.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Queensland Police in relation to the incident.
