The shocking moment a motorcyclist spits at a female driver through her open car window has been caught on camera — but the rider claims he was only reacting to her bad driving.
The footage was taken at River Esplanade, Maroochydore, on the Sunshine Coast, on Monday, November 4, at about 9.30am and shared to Instagram shortly after the incident.
It shows a middle-aged man riding past the woman’s car before he turns and spits at her through the window.
The woman reacts with disgust, rolling up her window and yelling, ‘You disgusting piece of s**t.’
Another man, wearing a blue shirt, then confronts the motorbike rider.
‘It’s a lady, mate. You don’t go spitting at people,’ he said.
The woman thanked him for standing up for her and asked her passenger to note down the motorbike rider’s license plate.
Shocking footage has captured the vile moment a male motorbike rider spat at a female driver through the window of her car in an apparent road rage incident
The video then cuts to a scene where the motorbike rider punches the man in the blue shirt as the woman drives by.
However, the motorbike rider has spoken out on social media to share his side of the story, claiming the video omitted crucial details.
He claimed the female driver had been using her phone, swerved into his lane on a bridge, and nearly forced him into the guardrail.
‘Just so we are clear, the driver was on her phone she came into my lane at Bundilla on the new bridge [and] nearly pushed me into the guard rail,’ he said.
‘Then, when I got up next to her to say “wtf”, she gave me the finger and a mouth full of abuse.

‘When I took a picture of her number plate, she got even more abusive, telling me hope I get killed hope you die.
‘Then old mate in the blue shirt gripped me around the throat, took two swings, and I popped him once, then I went straight to cop shop.’
He also claimed the female driver had spat on him first and had also ‘thrown stuff’ at him while he was on his bike.
Queensland Police are investigating the attack and have not laid any charges yet.
The driver, a 42-year-old woman from Mooloobala, and her passenger were not injured during the road rage incident.
In Queensland, spitting on a person is illegal and considered common assault under section 245 of the Criminal Code Act 1899.
Common assault is when the person who was assaulted has only minor injuries or no injuries at all.
The Criminal Code Act outlines the maximum penalty for common assault is up to three years in jail if the offender is found guilty of ‘unlawfully assaulting another’.
