Olivia Munn’s son seems to know his mom is a Hollywood star—he’s just not sure which one.
The X-Men actress, 44, shared a charming video on her Instagram Stories Wednesday featuring her three-year-old son Malcolm, whom she has with comedian John Mulaney.
In the clip, Malcolm adorably mistakes his mom for British actress Florence Pugh on the cover of TIME magazine.
Olivia was celebrating her spot on TIME’s 2024 Inspiring Women Special Edition alongside notable icons like Taylor Swift, Serena Williams, and Jane Fonda when Malcolm pointed to Pugh’s picture and confidently declared, ‘I know this is mommy.’
The movie star then quipped, ‘I often get confused for Florence Pugh.’
To be fair to the little guy, Olivia’s photo was right next to Florence’s in a grid of 11 stars, making it an easy mix-up.

Olivia’s sweet mix-up story follows her candid reflections in GQ’s 2024 Men of the Year issue.
The star opened up about how her relationship with Mulaney was far from typical when she became pregnant with their first child.
‘It wasn’t anything close to dating,’ she told GQ, admitting, ‘I barely knew him.’
Munn first crossed paths with Mulaney, 42, at Seth Meyers’ wedding in 2013, reconnecting in early 2021 when he had just left rehab and was starting fresh after his split from Anna Marie Tendler.
She offered a contact to help him find a new place, which led to a thank-you note from Mulaney and eventually to them briefly dating.
When Olivia shared the news of her pregnancy, John was thrilled, though they weren’t exactly planning a traditional family structure.
‘It wasn’t necessarily “we’re going to be married and live together,” but it was “I will be involved in some way,”‘ she explained.
Living bi-coastally with Munn in Los Angeles and Mulaney in New York City, they kept in touch, and he made visits to LA when possible.

The couple welcomed their second child, Méi, in September via surrogate
Olivia was cautious given John’s recovery journey, describing the situation as ‘like watching a man in a tsunami.’
She worried, ‘I didn’t know him well enough to help him.’
When she was six months pregnant, she staged a small intervention, agreeing to randomly drug-test Mulaney to support his sobriety—a practice they still maintain.
Oliva has since faced her own health struggles, undergoing a double mastectomy and hysterectomy earlier this year after a breast cancer diagnosis.
The couple married over the July 4 weekend and welcomed a daughter, Méi, in September via surrogate.
Now settled in Los Angeles, John has launched John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in L.A., with 12 new episodes set to air on Netflix by late February.
Meanwhile, Livia is slated to star in Your Friends and Neighbors alongside Jon Hamm and Amanda Peet, expected to premiere on Apple TV+ in 2025.
