Hugh Jackman’s heartbreaking health battle revealed – amid rumours an affair with co-star Sutton Foster ended his marriage

Hugh Jackman has opened up about a heartbreaking health scare which prompted the Hollywood megastar to undergo tests for a rare form of skin cancer.

The Wolverine star, 56, appears in an upcoming documentary film called Conquering Skin Cancer, in which he talks about his ordeal.

In a newly released trailer, Hugh reveals details of the harrowing time, admitting, ‘I remember feeling pretty scared.’

He then urged people to get a skin cancer test done and reassured them: ‘I promise you won’t regret it.’

The movie star will appear alongside Olympic swimmer Cate Campbell and Deborah Hutton in the movie, which will be released in Australian cinemas on Wednesday.

Hugh previously took to Instagram in 2023 to inform his followers he was having a biopsy conducted on his nose to test for basal cell carcinoma, a mild form of skin cancer.

‘I’ve just had two biopsy tests done. The doctor saw two little things that may be basal cell,’ Hugh told his followers.

The Melbourne-born actor then urged his fans to always practice sun safety, to minimise the risk of contracting the disease.

‘Summer is coming, so please wear sunscreen! It is just not worth it! No matter how much you want a tan, trust me.’

The Marvel star revealed he had biopsies of moles on his nose that could be basal cell carcinoma, the most common form of skin cancer with a high survival rate.

Fortunately, after getting the lesions removed Hugh was given a clean bill of health, as he committed to practice strict sun safety from then on.

It follows reports that Hugh’s close relationship with Broadway star Sutton Foster, 49, contributed to the end of his long-term marriage to Deborra-Lee Furness.

Hugh and Sutton took on the roles of Harold Hill and Marian Paroo in The Music Man, which ran from February 2022 to January 2023 at the Winter Garden Theatre in Manhattan.

‘Sutton and Hugh’s relationship is the reason Hugh and Deb [separated],’ a source close to Foster told Us Weekly.

The pair have already attended public events together, looking smitten with one another at the opening night of their show The Music Man on Broadway in February 2022.
